German Coat of Arms

German Family Robinson

We love Germany so much we bought the clothes.

Germany is one of my favorite places in the world. When I was just nineteen years old I was lucky enough to be stationed there while serving in the Army. I live in the town of Ansbach, which is not too far from the city of Nuremburg. You may have heard of Nuremburg, as it is where the war crimes trials took place after World War II.

I found it amazing how many Americans there tried to live the conventional American lifestyle. They would shop, eat and work on the base on a daily basis. I on the other hand, figured I didn’t know how many chances I would get to be there so I took advantage of being there. I traveled a lot, not just in Germany but all over. Even though I lived in Germany, it was still my favorite country in Europe.

I left there in 1994, and thought I would never get the chance to return. That all changed when I planned a trip there for my wife and son. I wanted them to see the Oktoberfest in Munich. So I planned a trip. Luckily that was just our first trip, and we have been back a few times as I was called to work over there quite a few times.

What is it that I love about germany? Everything is clean. There is so much history. The people are such a happy bunch. The beer. The real question is probably what is there that i don’t like about germany? I can’t really think of anything.

One of my friends once said that I romanticize the country, and it isn’t as great as I think. If I hadn’t returned so many times recently I might have believed that. But every time I go back I find it just as enchanting.

So I thought I would share some of my favorite cities. The pages of this sight will contain photos of some of the great spots all taken by my wife on our trips over the last few years. Please take a look and enjoy.

Don't forget to try these!
